Kavalan Lán 70cl Whisky. 43% abv

Taiwan's Kavalan created this single malt as a tribute to its birthplace in Yilan County. The Mandarin symbol for Lán means 'orchid', and this whisky showcases a delightfully floral profile thanks to maturation in a combination of bourbon barrels, Port casks, and STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) Vinho wine casks.

Nose - Citrus blossom, floral tea, and vanilla pods open the way for notes of chocolatey malt, woody spice, and hints of Wine Gums.

Palate - Biscuity malt, forest fruits, cinnamon sticks, and chocolate-coated cherries, and rich oak char.

Finish - Dark spices, caramelised nuts, layers of vinous oak, and a touch of pepper.
